      Indian Wars and Pioneers of Texas by Brown, John Henry. He was only one of three doctors in Texas City before becoming a Captain in the Army during World War II. He resumed his duties as Texas City Health Officer after his service which found him directing and participating in the aftermath of the infamous Texas City Explosion in Book Edition: 1st Edition.
